Trauma-sensitive mindfulness

Although we believe mindfulness meditation can be helpful to everyone, it is important to recognize it may not be for everyone at this time. Mindfulness meditation is not a substitute for counseling or other types of therapy. Individuals suffering from trauma, addiction, or other conditions may find this is not the time to practice mindfulness meditation.  Or, if they choose to practice it, they may wish to do so with the support of a counselor or physician.
